"Anthropomorphism"

Humans have great character

or so I'm told

but what we do to our animals

is really just as bold

"My Scrappy understands

everything I say!

I tell him 'No' and just you watch

he'll deliberately disobey."

"Horatio's a very good dog,

he knows just what I need.

He'll fetch my slippers, coat, and hat

but chews upon his lead."

"I was saying to D'arcy

just the other day,

'My cat Lulubelle

wouldn't bother with a stray.'

They say their pets would

look like them, and talk

the same if they could

I think it's more that they

look like the pets - as they should!
