One of Avalon Stained Glass School’s mission is to provide guidance and support to the next generation of artists. Where does that next generation come from? They come from the creative young people of our society.
Unfortunately over the years that creativity has been dulled when the level was removed from the "playing field" for all American kids in our school systems and it all started when the pressure became great in those school systems to "leave no child behind."
We at Avalon Stained Glass School agree that focusing more time on math and reading is important, but is it important at the expense of other kinds of learning such as the arts, science, foreign language and history? We don’t think so. We worry about short changing the future of America’s children and especially the children of our local area.
We feel that creative youth are the building blocks of healthy communities. As communities develop the creative talents of their youth, they attract a creative class of citizens. The future artists, web designers, architects, copy writers, photographers, cartoonists, political satirists, art directors and fashion designers. These people are hired by companies and businesses that need their artist skills to grow.
With that in mind, Avalon Stained Glass School has developed a new workshop each Saturday afternoon from 1 pm to 4 pm for children ages 8 to 13. It is our new Saturday Afternoon Kids Art Club©.
Here your child will have the opportunity to become innovative and creative and turn their artistic ideas into tangible art projects. We provide 3 hours of guidance, all materials and the magic of artistic freedom for your child to create anything that comes to mind and to soar artistically.
Pre-registration is required and space is limited to 8 children at each session. Workshop fee is $25.00 per session and you drop your child off at our studio at 1 pm CT and pick your child up again at 4 pm. The workshop is conducted by award winning artist, Arlene Wright-Correll. To register call 270 524 9567 and give your child the artist edge he and she will need in life.
