Perfect Brownies

When cutting brownies into bars, use a disposable plastic knife, the brownies won’t stick to the knife and you will have perfectly cut brownies.

Sprinkle Cocoa Powder over greased or buttered pan when baking anything chocolate rather than flour.

When decorating fresh strawberries with chocolate to garnish a plate of cookies and you want the strawberries to stand up, fill a jellyroll pan with ice and lay another pan on top of the iced pan. Let get very cold. As you dip your strawberries in chocolate, bring over to cold pan and hold in upright position until the chocolate firms up in upright position. Then as you garnish, all your strawberries are pretty and standing tall.

Coat the inside of graham cracker crust with thin coat of melted chocolate. Allow it to set up before filling with favorite filling. Use coffee instead of water in instant hot chocolate mix. Instant cappuccino!

Always wash hands after dealing with any meat or eggs. Also when you are cracking eggs you should use a cup to make sure that the egg is good and then you can put it into a bowl after you have made sure that it is a good egg.

When recipe calls for greasing pans or cookie sheets, use a butter wrapper before you throw it out after you have cut the amount the recipe called for.

Can't get that old candle out of the bottom of your votive holder? Just put it in the freezer for about a half hour and it will pop right out.

Use a strand of uncooked spaghetti to test a cake for doneness when a toothpick isn’t long enough, or if you don’t have any toothpicks in the house.

Rich and dark, bittersweet chocolate is preferred by many cooks for sweets and elegant desserts. Because it's high in pure chocolate (at least 35 percent cocoa solids), it's best used when an intense chocolate flavor is called for.

Molasses adds deep flavor and color to these rich cookies and their buttery filling.

Save the boxes when you get a package in the mail. Fold them flat and store them for when you need a box to send something in the mail or wrap for holiday gifts.

Instead of throwing out shoe boxes, spray paint them different colors for certain areas in the house. They look nice and can be used for anything. For example, they can hold nylons, belts, purses, etc. in a bedroom closet.

Do your children like to draw? Rather than using up your expensive computer printer paper, turn to paper bags or recycled office paper for some of their artwork.
