Mexican Memories is a new series of paintings started by the American artist, Arlene Wright-Correll, in May of 2005.

“Oaxacan Dancer” by Arlene Wright-Correll.

This is the first in a new series started by the artist in May of 2005.

Approximately 25 years ago the artist was invited to holiday in Oaxaca, Mexico.

She remembers the wonderful time she had with Bob and Nancy, especially one evening in a small cafe off the little plaza in Oaxaca. They enjoyed a festive evening and were entertained with a series of dances by the local young people.

Though the artist never had a camera with her, she vividly remembers that whole holiday and especially that evening.

This is a watercolor painting on 9 x 12″ 100% on 100% cotton watercolor canvas and done with Dr. PH Martin’s Hydus watercolors. This work is framed and matted in black. 12 x 16″ outside frame measurements and includes an EBSQ Certificate of Authenticity.

This painting was entry 921 and took first place in the May 2005 art competition of Salis International in Colorado.
