Meet artists are Carmolyn Back and Jessica Mayes

In Central Kentucky there is an Aunt Carmolyn Back and a niece Jessica Mayes who both do hot glass flame work and since they do not live too far from each other they decided to open up a business together even though Carmolyn has a home studio in Lexington and Jessica has a home studio in Paris, Kentucky, that is!

Together they opened up a business called “Starry-Eyed Glassworks” and it sells exquisitely created and hand crafted lamp worked glass beads and jewelry.

Glass beads have been around for thousands of years and for those environmentally concerned buyers who are now having distain for countries that are mining precious and semi-precious gems then take a look at these galsís jewelry.

Lamp work has been around for years and it is a very old art form where glass rods are melted onto a metal mandrel and formed into beads. Incredibility beautiful and intricate small works of art are created using many tools, colors and techniques as these artists twist, turn, decorate and shape each bead into a perfect work of art.

They offer beautiful bracelets, earrings, watchbands and fine necklaces and pendants. Jessica loves the creatively that can be accomplished with the glass work and Carmolyn loves the colors and the freedom that lamp work allows her artistic juices to flow.

They create seasonal jewelry or accessorize jewelry to match your special outfits. Their prices start at about $25.00 and they would love to hear from you by simply emailing them at starryeyedglass@insightbb.comor go to their website at www.starryeyedglass.com  for something really special for that special gal on your Christmas list including some really interesting bookmarks for teachers and friends.
