 Learning  the Art of Stained Glass Painting

Avalon Stained Glass School & Creativity Center offers a one full day of instruction for those who wish to add a new direction to their portfolio of stained glass making skills.

You will learn the correct way to use your traditional stained glass painting tools and materials to achieve the best results. Students will learn how to mix paints, which brushes to use, how to trace, matt and shade a design and how to fire the paint on to either float glass or stained glass.

Students will learn the process by producing a series of pieces of hand painted work throughout the day and finally fire them in our glass kilns. We aim to give you the knowledge and experience to go further with your own development through practicing and experimenting. The course will cover traditional working methods in stained glass production.

Just wear suitable old clothes and no open toe shoes and bring an apron; all the tools and materials are included in this exciting workshop.
Refreshments are included and available throughout the day. Lunch is included and catered in.

We also offer kiln hire should you wish to keep your painting going without the expense of buying your own glass kiln.  Simply paint at home, and then drop your work off for firing and collect the next day.
Because of the nature of this workshop, painting is done one day, fired that evening and then you pickup your work of art when the kiln is opened at your convenience. In the event you live away, we will pack it up for a small nominal fee of $8.95 payable in advance and then ship it to you at your expense via UPS.

Cancellation policy: A full refund, less a $99.00 processing fee, will be made if you cancel more than 30 days prior to the course. If you cancel less than 30 days prior to the course, a refund (less processing fee) will be made ONLY if we are able to fill your space. On the rare occasion that we need to cancel a course, we will refund all fees paid. We will make every attempt to notify you of cancellation more than one week prior to the course.

Directions to studio: from Munfordville Courthouse go North on 357 2 miles, Right onto 2185 for 3.3 miles, Right onto Dave Wintsch Rd. and we are the 1st driveway on the left. Come up the driveway and we are the first building on the left.
