Avalon Stained Glass Studio's School

is a year round school.

Workshops are giving all year round.

We have a workshop that is just right for you!

Here are some of our Distinguished Alumni and their first projects.

Cora Jessie:

Cora Jessie of Edmonton, KY says, "I never cut a piece of glass before. The instuctor was so patient and knowledgeable, the class was fun and it was a lot easier than I thought. I am so proud of my first piece. I finished it in 18 hours!"

Tyla Groce:

Tyla Groce of Glasgow, KY says, "This is my first project and the class was simple, instructor was great and patient and I can't wait to start another one!"

katekenny:

Kate Kenny of Kenny's Signs in Cave City, KY made this piece as a present for her mom.  Kate is indeed the "Mad Sign-tist" and we love having her come to classes. She is on her second project and is making a side panel for her business location that says "Signs"! Of course what else from this fun gal.

donita:

Artist, Donita Woodcock, of Munfordville, KY decided to add another art medium to her talents and took the stained glass workshop.  Here she is with her first finished project.  "I loved it totally", says Donita "and I loved the cookies served!" Donita said part of the best part was being able to pay for part of the workshop with one of her paintings. She is a fantastic artist!

kathyconner:

Kathy Conner came for one of our vacation workshops. She elected to stay in our camper and she is here with her first project.  Carl says Kathy is one of his most enthusiastic students and he thinks she will create great projects. Kathy says, "The stay was very pleasant and informative".

nedra:

Nedra Morrison graduated on March 25, 2006 from Avalon Stained Glass Studio & School.  This is her first project, but according to Nedra, not her last. She intends to continue creating beautiful stained glass art pieces.  Nedra's piece is a true stained glass heirloom, complete with etched signature and date.

emma:

Emma Isgrigg of Magnolia, KY graduated March 25, 2006 from Avalon Stained Glass Studio's school.  Emma's first project will be hung in her kitchen window.  Emma says she will be back to do more and will bring her mother in April for a workshop when her mother arrives for her visit from England.

kimvance:

Kim Vance of Upton, KY graduated June 21, 2006 from Avalon Stained Glass Studio's School.  Kim's first project was a stained glass photo frame. She says she will be back for more projects.

twilcox:

Teresa Wilcox of Upton, KY came into Avalon Stained Glass Studio to buy a wedding present for her son’s upcoming wedding. The piece she chose would cost $500.00. However Carl Correll, Stained Glass Master at Avalon Stained Glass School, explained that she could easily make the same exact piece for only $295.00, plus create an heirloom piece that was signed by her and would probably be more meaningful to her son and his new bride.

With that information in mind, Teresa called 2 days later to registered for the course and 24 hours later, which spanned 3 weeks to fit into her busy schedule here she is with her finished product, a beautiful, traditional stained glass window with an etched insert that says "Jared and Ami, September 2, 2006". Besides finishing her piece of art glass, Teresa is now a Certified Stained Glass Artist.

Teresa says, "I had a wonderful time, Carl was so great making the lessons easy and fun. I will be making other things in stained glass. I am so pleased to have been able to make a wedding present that hopefully my children will always treasure. I would recommend this class to anyone." Teresa graduated July 5, 2006.

 Teresa graduated July 5, 2006.

October 11, 2006 saw Pat Griffin finish the first of the 4 window corners she will be making. She was excited and delighted.

patgrifsg:

We are having some fun Wednesday evening classes here at Avalon Stained Glass School with Kate Kenny and her mother Mary Williams coming and making Christmas presents. Patti Griffin a renown porcelain painter joins us and she is making window corners for her home. We spend a half hour before shop time having a light supper and Kate makes Margaritas then they are off for a couple of hours of fun in the glass room. I call them the Rowdy Bunch.

rowdybunch:

Savannah says this is really easy and a lot of fun and she is coming back next week to begin a special picture frame of a saddle with stirrups to make in which to put a picture of her horse. Savannah and her mother, Kate Kenny, are in the mother/daughter workshops.

We had another graduate from the 5 day vacation workshop. It is almost impossible to co-ordinate a full workshop with everyone taking their vacations at different times so we just accommodate anyone who wants to come whenever they want to come. This attendee came in from Hilton Head, SC and we welcome him to the Alumni Club.
