We are open year round except for the month of August each year.

Up until 1998 we owned a B&B, Campground & Hostels on a river in TN.

We retired from that and came to a beautiful part of Kentucky where we started a small organic Herbery, flower gardens and opened

Avalon Stained Glass School, Art Gallery and Artist Retreat

Here we have 5 acres of land that we call Home Farm Herbery.

At ages 72 and 73 we perk along doing our artistic things, working the land, contribute our time to the local civic events and try to be good neighbors to all.

We like company and we like campers so we offer some interesting things to campers who like arts, crafts and gardening!

We offer daily free camping to anyone who will help us in the gardens for 4 hours each morning. Our camping in limited since we do not have any full hookups. We can offer space to self contained units up to 25 ft. or tenters or anyone can use our camper when available.

We also offer free camping space to anyone who wants to take any of our modestly priced stained glass or our "Cheap NO Talent Needed " art courses.

Here is a place that campers traveling across the country can stop and do some gardening and take a break.

Or you can take an arts or crafts break

Or you can take a stained glass course.

Space is limited and we reserve the right to refuse space to anyone.

We have a lot to teach after a combined 141 years experience on this planet. But we are still learning, so bring what you know.

We provide the opportunity for anyone interested in organic farming and gardening to get out to a micro-farm and garden and get their hands dirty. Our program is available to anyone over 18 years of age - urban dwellers, working professionals, students, families, farmers, gardeners, and people who have never touched soil in their lives are all welcome.

Occasionally we will exchange 3 good meals a day, plus a place for your camper or tent, or in our camper, (if available) for 4 hours of work per day. Work is from 8 a.m. until noon and consists of gardening, weeding, weeding and usually more weeding, sometimes some carpentry, painting, replanting planters, tilling new beds, cleaning up old ones and general work on our small organic herbery.  We always have new bedding projects in need of assistance and we will be glad to teach you how to do many things.

Please be aware that we do most things by hand and use nothing bigger than a roto-tiller.

We have a small camper that sleeps 4 and it sometimes is used as a "hostel" type facility and shared with others.  You can bring your own tent or small camper.

This is an excellent opportunity for you to experience something new.
