Carl Correll makes a gift presentation of a stained glass Hart County Chamber of Commerce logo for their 20th anniversary.  Kate Kenny (Avalon alumni) of Kenny’s Signs in Cave City, KY created, donated and applied the letter for the sign.

December 2005 Happenings

Here are 3 of Tyla Groce stained glass pieces she has made since she graduated from her workshop.  She is really going to town and doing some incredible work, especially for someone who was a nervous wreck the first day of her workshop.  Carl is so proud of her.

Kate Kenny has made her second panel.  This one is for the window in their office at Kennys Signs and Awnings in Horse Cave, KY

Carl himself has made some new pieces including this stained glass picture frame.

He made this one as a donation for the Hart County Bank and Trust’s December silent auction.

He also made this panel for the Munfordville Volunteer Fire Department as a donation and they raised $300.00 on it.

He designed this Masonic Logo and has it for sale on his website now.

This one went to a Realtor in TN.

And this one was done for the Hart County Chamber of Commerce’s silent auction at their Dec.1, annual meeting.

He just finished this 27 x 46.5″ panel “Victorian Symphony”

Here are some more he did in November and he can teach you how to do them also.

And look at this lovely votive candle holder and Christmas Bell.

It looks like everyone has had a busy month.

He is off to NY and will be back around December 30.  I will be here and the studio will be open for anything and everything except lessons during normal business hours.

I cannot believe so much time has past since our last writing.

Kim Vance of Upton, KY graduated today with her first piece which is a stained glass photo frame.

Nedra Morrison is busy making stained glass like mad.

Carl has just gotten a new, large glass etching piece of equipment. So for those of you who need glass etching let us know.

Here are some of the newest things you can learn at the school.

July 2006

Teresa Wilcox of Upton, KY came into Avalon Stained Glass Studio to buy a wedding present for her sonís upcoming wedding. The piece she chose would cost $500.00. However Carl Correll, Stained Glass Master at Avalon Stained Glass School, explained that she could easily make the same exact piece for only $295.00, plus create an heirloom piece that was signed by her and would probably be more meaningful to her son and his new bride.

With that information in mind, Teresa called 2 days later to registered for the course and 24 hours later, which spanned 3 weeks to fit into her busy schedule here she is with her finished product, a beautiful, traditional stained glass window with an etched insert that says “Jared and Ami, September 2, 2006″. Besides finishing her piece of art glass, Teresa is now a Certified Stained Glass Artist.

Teresa says, “I had a wonderful time, Carl was so great making the lessons easy and fun. I will be making other things in stained glass. I am so pleased to have been able to make a wedding present that hopefully my children will always treasure. I would recommend this class to anyone.” Teresa graduated July 5, 2006.

School closed for the month of August.

September 2006

Carl finished this beauty called Eternal Tulip made with a polished geode.

October 11, 2006 saw Pat Griffin finish the first of the 4 window corners she will be making. She was excited and delighted.

We are having some fun Wednesday evening classes here at Avalon Stained Glass School with Kate Kenny and her mother Mary Williams coming and making Christmas presents. Patti Griffin a wonderful porcelin painter joins us and she is making window corners for her home. We spend a half hour before shop time having a light supper and Kate makes Margaritas then they are off for a couple of hours of fun in the glass room. I call them the Rowdy Bunch.

Come and take our newest workshop. “Stained Glass in an Afternoon”. You will be delighted and surprised.

Carl is the recipient of the Bowling Green Women’s Club Merit Award at the 26th Annual All Kentucky Fine Art Exhibition with his award winning work “Victorian Arch Panel”.
