As all galleries, we are open to reasonable offers. About the artist. Anna Sandu Ray is the ex-wife of the late James Earl Ray. Some of her paintings sometimes have the name McBee after Anna Sandu Ray. None of these have that name. Our family acquired all these original paintings in 1997, so all are dated prior to that and all are signed by the artist. The following is some of the information we found about her on the internet, “Anna Sandhu Ray was a court artist. She was sort of a bohemian, selling her art work on the streets, only asking enough to live on. She did the sketches of the trial of James Earl Ray in 1977 on the escape from Brushy Mountain State Prison. At that time she was working for a Knoxville Television Station. The following year she married James Earl Ray by proxy. They remained married for 14 years, divorcing in 1993. Anna’s talent stretches far beyond Courtroom sketches to beautiful images of young women, landscapes, and country scenes of yesteryear.” She has many lovely paintings owned by many people, including Geraldo Rivera. We have been told a painting she did of Martin Luther King is currently on sale in a TN Gallery for $200,000.00. Victorian Mother and Child.
